Club evening will be Ten Pin...
Background
History
The club began in January 1978. It was originally started by nurses at Queen Mary's hospital who wanted somewhere for the disabled children and their brothers & sisters to go together.
The club has built up over the years and have now got a membership of 120 young people.
In 2018 we celebrated 40 years of the club, we held a festival, fundraising ball, mini phab and performed a show at the Playhouse.
Charity
Epsom & Ewell Phab is a registered charity No 298452. We ensure our trustees conform to all the Charity Commission requirements. We submit our annual return accounts and annual report on time.
Save Epsom Phab
On Friday 16th December 2011 we found out that Surrey County Council had plans to sell the ‘long leasehold’ they have at the Linton Centre, meaning Phab would have nowhere to meet, we ran a successful campaign to save the youth club.

What We Do
Club Evenings
We meet each Friday Evening at Nescot College from 7.30pm - 9.30pm throughout the year including in the school holidays (except Good Friday & between Christmas & New Year).
Members take part in sports such as unihoc, football, tennis, volleyball, basketball and table tennis. They do games, arts, crafts, dance, drama, circus skills and music.
Each evening many of the activities run in parallel and members chose which activities they want to do and how long they want to do them for, allowing opportunities for free-flow.

Interested in Joining?
The club has 120 members and operates a waiting list.
If you are aged 8 to 16 and are interested in joining contact us to arrange a visit. We will show you around on a club evening and discuss your individual needs.
If you would like to then put your name on the waiting list please email phab@phab.org.
New members usually join in groups at the beginning of each term. The cost is £2 each evening you attend (or a payment of £75 for a year September to August).
The club is run by a team of experienced volunteers and many enthusiastic young volunteers. Buddies are provided to new members who need initial support. There are always plenty of volunteers to provide care, facilitation and help whenever it is needed (however 1 to 1 support is not available on an ongoing basis).

Supporters
Interested in Supporting Us?
Thank you for showing an interest in supporting Epsom and Ewell Phab and there are a number of ways that you can do this. We are always looking for volunteers to help at our Friday club evenings, organise events or help with fundraising (such as collecting with Rotary at Christmas or helping at the Epsom Methodist Book Fair).
As we are completely dependent on contributions and donations, any financial support would also be very welcome. The club is run entirely by volunteers so all funds go directly to helping our members. £100 allows us to run one of our weekly club evenings and £300 allows us to take a young person on one of our annual adventure activity holidays. There are also opportunities to sponsor events such as our family water sports day, our shows and a race at Epsom Racecourse
If you are interested in any of these ways of supporting Epsom and Ewell Phab please email phab@phab.org
